Call of the Desert: Crossing (Beloved Daughter Book 1) by A.A. Vogel
From the author: Call of the Desert: Crossing is the first in the Beloved Daughter series of five books about Claire Hamilton as she navigates the challenges of growing up in the expat community of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (books 1 and 2), and then boarding school far from home (books 3, 4, and 5).
As I write these stories, I draw on many of my own experiences as a teen living overseas. But I draw on my imagination and inspiration even more—they are NOT autobiographical. Claire is way more interesting than I ever was. (2024)
Call of the Desert: Exile (Beloved Daughter Book 2) (2025)
Lord of All Hopefulness: Waking (Beloved Daughter Book 3) (2026)

How will Belinda navigate the change? And where will she find the support she needs? The Diary of…Who Am I Again? is a light-hearted romantic novel that explores profound questions of faith and identity. Recommended by teens. (2026)

Blue Feet Monsoon by Cynthia Green.
It takes place in post-colonial Singapore, Anoushka’s seventh country – Peru, Brazil, India, Philippines, Japan, Colombia and Singapore. Anoushka decides she really likes Singapore so she pretends to volunteer at the elderly ward of a hospital in order to find somebody to teach her to speak Hokkien. She thinks it will make her fit in to her new country. This kicks off a series of adventures. The book is fast paced and a fun trip through adolescent ups and downs. I enjoyed this fast paced book about change and movement.
