These are all postcards from the 1960’s

Paris, March 1973
We are on our way to Amsterdam. I’ll take KLM to Chicago, Bill to Frankfort and Lagos. The Paris weather has been cold but clear and sunny – lovely. I walked miles to know Paris a little better. Had lunch with Zina yesterday – she says Lisa is very unhappy here – she’s going to US for Easter. Do keep warm, for that helps to recover and prevent colds.
Love to you, Mom

1985. NIGERIA
The most populous single African nation on the continent of Africa, lies on the west coast and has a rich tradition and culture closely connected with her religious beliefs and the rites and practices relating to them. Traditional religion has given the people a heritage of culture and tradition which is still noticeable despite later influence by Isalm and Christianity. The agriculture, music, art, craft, language and economies of the country still bear traces of this influence.

T & J got here about 4 hours late but happy and not too tired. We are gradually hearing about their trip to Europe, their life in Australia.
You can see Bill’s office at the top right of the photo.
Hope you are well, Love, Dede

This is the real Nefertiti – and she is lovely. We saw so many ancient things today – things we had studied in your ancient history at Greengates. We are in a FF apt. right on the Nile. Your letter was here – thanks – and today we got a cable from Tim. Will go to Pyramids manana and to Karachi in aft.

Dear V
It’s good to be back again. We were in Bogota one week also. Lots of change here. Thousands of new autopista’s, casas and edificios. Bob is working 6 weeks at the Pedegogico Evaluation and doing research for a chapter on Students and Politics. Rodolfo is here also. We called Ruth and said Hi. Funny isn’t it. We took an apt at Macuto for 1 month. Move in Sat. Anthony is here also.
Love to all, Nita and Bob

April 1966
The conference in Maracay is over and I think was very interesting. I will tell you about it when I return to Mexico about the 9th of May. Hopefully I will find a little time to spend in the county-side before then.
Saludos

Skyway Art. Walking through the Skyway this week I noticed these new window murals. They are kind of cool.
It’s official. I’m retired. Day three of retirement. The countdown is over. Now I can get to all those projects I’ve been putting off for my retirement.
You might want to check out postcardbuzz.com this week. I came across some postcards from the turn of the century (1900’s). Apparently it was all the rage to send photographs as postcards. Here is one that was appropriate for the season.

Speaking of the season. We have had over 40 inches of snow this winter so far. We are running out of places to put it.

The US House of Representatives are the butt of all jokes at the moment. Specifically Kevin McCarthy. What an idiot. They have voted 10 times so far and he still can’t get elected speaker of the house. Where is Nancy when you need her?
I started reading the Raj Quartet, first one is The Jewel in the Crown. I saw the dramatization on PBS years ago. So far I am enjoying the book.
Obviously not much floating around in my head this week….
